Nowadays, Mutual Funds can be purchased not only through partner banks, but also through various securities firms and marketplaces that offer digital transactions, such as general marketplaces (Tokopedia and Bukalapak), Mutual Fund marketplaces (Bareksa, Invisee & Kelola), and Securities firms (Indo Premier Securities, Mandiri Securities, BNI Securities, Danareksa Securities, Mandiri Securities & Trimegah Securities)
You can start buying Mutual Funds by registering on one of the platforms mentioned above. Generally, you only need to fill in your personal information and upload a photo of your ID, which can be done at any time. The registration process typically takes around 10 minutes, with an average verification time of approximately 1 x 24 hours. Once verification is complete, you will usually receive a notification via email and can then start transacting.
Starting to transact is also easy. You simply open the digital platform where your identity is registered and select the Mutual Fund you want. Usually there will be a sorting feature where you can view Mutual Funds by type, performance and Investment Manager name. In addition to the percentage return, another equally important factor to monitor is the performance stability of the Mutual Fund, especially if you intend to invest over the long term. Information like this can be found in the Fund Fact Sheet and Prospectus.
Once you have made your choice, you simply click the buy button and pay according to the requirements. Payment is also easy – usually you just need to transfer to the specified bank. There is no need to worry because the account name is the name of the Mutual Fund in question. At this stage, you should also check whether there is a unique code that must be included in the transfer description, and don't forget to confirm payment on the platform in question.
Easy, isn't it? The process is almost exactly the same as shopping on your usual e-commerce platform. So, when will you start investing?
